Gabriel Salazar, Executive Chef

Executive Chef Gabriel Salazar, born and raised in Venezuela, began his culinary career at age 16 and studied at the Culinary Institute of Caracas before training in Spain’s Basque region under three Michelin-starred chef Martín Berasategui.

He later spent eight years in New York City’s acclaimed restaurant scene, serving as Chef de Cuisine at Hospoda and holding leadership roles at The Elm, The Standard Grill, The Knickerbocker Hotel, and The Four Horsemen, followed by Executive Chef positions at Sauvage and Maison Premiere in Brooklyn.

Since joining INNESS in 2022, Chef Salazar has focused on seasonal, locally inspired cuisine, using open-fire techniques to highlight the flavors and bounty of the Hudson Valley.
